Profile Prof. Dr. Euis Nurlaelawati, M.A
Euis Nurlaelawati is a professor in Islamic (family) law at the Faculty of Sharia and Law, Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University (UIN Sunan Kalijaga), Yogyakarta. Her publications include Modernization, Tradition and Identity: The Kompilasi Hukum Islam and Legal Practices in Indonesian Religious Courts, Amsterdam University Press, 2010; ‘Muslim Women in Indonesian Religious Courts: Reform, Strategies, and Pronouncement of Divorce’, Journal of Islamic Law and Society, 2013; ‘Expansive Legal Interpretation: Muslim Judges’ Approach to Polygamy in Indonesia’, Hawwa Journal, 2020, ‘Lawyering in Indonesia’s Religious Courts: Legal Aid, Procedural Justice and Pragmatism’, in Access to Justice and Lawyering in Muslim Countries, Routledge, 2022, (with Witriani) ‘Cultural Expertise in Islamic courts in Indonesia’, in Cultural Expertise, Law, and Rights, Routledge, 2023, and Islamic Family Law in Indonesian Scholarship: Focuses and Approaches’, in Recht van de Islam 35, 2023. She gives academic talks in a number national and international conferences, seminars, and workshops on various themes on law (Islamic family law, in particular), including, the latest ones, on legal advocacy and cultural expertise in Indonesia in international conference on cultural expertise in Peru, Indonesia and Australia, on Islamic family law reforms; the aspects of gender and religion in international conference on fiqh in abnormal context.


Profile Prof. Dr. Ali Sodiqin, M.Ag


Ali Sodiqin is a Professor in Islamic Legal Philosophy (Ushul Fikih) at the Faculty of Sharia and Law at the State Islamic University (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. His research interests are in Islamic and socio-legal studies, maqasid sharia, and restorative justice. His latest publications include: Diversity in Determining Maturity Age in Indonesian Law: Maqasid Al-Shariah Perspective (2021) Science-Based Ijtihad: Religious and Scientific Dialectic on Fatwas Regarding Congregational Worships Amid the Covid-19 Pandemic (2021), The Interconnection of maslahah in Traditional Market Management Policy during the Pandemic in the City of Yogyakarta (2021), Legal, Moral, and Spiritual Dialectics in the Islamic Restorative Justice System (2021), Maqasid Sharia Perspective in the Change of the Marriage Age Limits for Women According to Law Number 16 of 2019 (2022), Toward Interreligious Fiqh: A Study of the Culture-Based Religious Tolerance in the Kaloran Community, Central Java, Indonesia (2023), Inter-religious Marriages In Indonesia: From Legal Disharmony To Legal Conflict (2023). He is also active in participating in national and international conferences in the study of Islamic law and society. Besides, he is also an editorial team and reviewer for several Indonesian and international journals of Islamic Law and Society.
Profile Dr. Lindra Darnela, M.Hum
Lindra Darnela is a lecturer in international law at the Faculty of Sharia and Law, Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University (UIN Sunan Kalijaga), Yogyakarta. She has several experiences of working in a number of non-governmental organizations, including the Centre for the Betterment of Education (CBE), ASAGI Foundation, Pusat Telaah dan Informasi Regional (Center for Regional Information and Studies), and Migrant Care. Her publications include, among others, Legitimacy of UN Security Council Resolutions in the Conflict in Darfur Sudan; Indonesia's Efforts to Regulate the Exclusive Economic Zone Based on International Law of the Sea; The International Community's Legitimacy of the Humanitarian Intervention of the United Nations Security Council (UN) in 2011; Islam and Humanity: Commodification of Aid for Rohingya in Aceh; Tackling for Human Trafficking: Village-based Movement of Migrant Workers in Lembata, Indonesia; and The Existence of the Republic of South Maluku as a Subject of International Law: Between Legitimacy and Legality.


Profile Dr. H. Abdul Mujib, M.Ag


Abdul Mujib graduated from bachelor, master, and doctoral programs in the field of Islamic business law from the State Islamic University Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. He teaches several fields of Islamic economy, including Islamic business law, Islamic business dispute resolution, and contemporary issues of Islamic business in undergraduate, master's, and doctoral study programs at the Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University Yogyakarta. He has conducted research in the following areas; Islamic Finance and Investment, Halal Hotels and Tourism, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, and Islamic business dispute resolution. Besides being active in teaching and research activities, he is also active in professional organizations, such as the Indonesian Sharia Economic Law Lecturer Association (Posdhesi), as a chairman, and in Asosiasi Mediator Syariah Indonesia (Association of Syariah Mediators of Indonesia (as a member). In recent years he has been active in giving guest lectures and presenting seminars at several universities and institutions in Indonesia; such as at the Training Centre for Judges of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia, Bandung Islamic University, Imam Bonjol State Islamic University Padang, KH. Abdurrahman Wakhid State Islamic University Pekalongan, Raden Mas Said State Islamic University Surakarta, and at several other universities and institutions.
